JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Police Sr. Comr. Aries Budiman has been sworn in as new director for prosecution of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday (Sep. 16) afternoon.
Aries took the position left behind by Police Sr. Comr. Yurod Saleh since March 2012.
According to KPK’s acting deputy chief Johan Budi Sapto Prabowo, Aries has passed selection test conducted by the KPK. Johan said Aries beat out eight other candidates from the National Police and the Attorney General Office (AGO) in the selection.
Prior to the inauguration, Aries served as deputy director for prosecution at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim POLRI). In 2014, he served as director for special crimes at the Jakarta Police office’s detective unit (Reskrim).
Aries is also known as closest aide of the current Chief of the Bareskrim POLRI Comr. Gen. Anang Iskandar. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
