JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned graft convict Angelina Patricia Pinkan Sondakh aka Angie for questioning on Thursday (Dec. 11) related to further investigation into a case of the construction of athlete dormitory project in Palembang, South Sumatra.

Angie is undergoing her twelve-year imprisonment after proven guilty for proactively asking a fee from the project.

According to KPK’s Head of News and Information Priharsa Nugraha, KPK will question the former lawmaker of then President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s Democratic Party as a witness for Rizal Abdullah, a suspect in the case. Rizal is former Head of South Sumatra’s Public Works office.

Previously, the Jakarta Corruption Court had sentenced Angie to 4.5 years jail term on Jan. 10, 2013, for her involvement in the same case. The Jakarta High Court then reaffirmed the lower court’s ruling.

But on Nov. 21, 2013, the Supreme Court (MA) granted the appeal filed by the KPK’s prosecutor team and dropped a heavier jail term to Angie, from 4.5 years to 12 years. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
