JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The ousted Chairman of Democratic Party Anas Urbaningrum, a suspect in a graft and money laundering cases, is questioning to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as it has so far not summoned President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) related to KPK’s investigation into the Bank Century bailout scandal.
“Indeed Pak SBY had ever told us that he didn’t know (about Bank Century), he was not reported (about it), and etc. But on my knowledge, Pak SBY have exactly been reported about the case,”Anas was quoted by Kompas.com Friday (May 2).
Furthermore, Anas is also questioning KPK as it has not yet summoned SBY and his younger son, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono aka Ibas, for the allegation of illicit money flowing from Hambalang project to the congress of Democratic Party back in 2010.
Anas said SBY and Ibas are important witnesses in the case considering to their positions in the Democratic Party as Chairman and Secretary General respectively.
As reported earlier, pressures to KPK to summon SBY and Ibas had been repeatedly launched by Anas and his supporters.
KPK, meanwhile, said the questioning over SBY and Ibas is not yet necessary needed. But KPK, however, did not close the possibility to summon them. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
