JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Akbar Tandjung, the Chairman of Golkar Party’s Advisory Board as per result of the 2009 Riau chairmanship congress (Munas) in Riau, suggested the Party to hold the new Munas in March 2016.
Akbar explained that new Golkar Munas should be held next month in order to give enough time for the Party to reconsolidate and making preparation ahead of the 2017 simultaneous regional elections.
Similar to Akbar, another senior Golkar politician Agung Laksono also recommended the Party to hold its new Munas in March or April 2016.
In the meantime, Bambang Soesatyo from Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie faction said that new Munas will be held in May 2016 accordance to the recommendation from Bakrie and VP Jusuf Kalla, who is also senior Golkar politician.
Agung, Bakrie, and Kalla are expected to hold a meeting this week to discuss the preparation of the new Golkar Munas. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
