JAKARTA (Yoefardi) – The legitimate Golkar Party led by Agung Laksono as per recognition from the government revealed their plan to push the House of Representatives (DPR) to exercise their right of inquiry over the case of Lapindo mudflow in Sidoarjo, East Java, that implicating Bakrie Group.

Bowo Sidik Pangarso from Agung Laksono’s Golkar confirmed the plan to Kompas.com over the weekend.

Previously, deputy chairman of Agung’s Golkar Yorrys Raweyai also revealed the plan to the press. Yorrys even said Agung’s Golkar might also to push the DPR to exercise their right of inquiry over tax and mining cases implicating Bakrie Group.

As reported earlier, Agung’s Golkar and the other Golkar led by Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie is now involved in a legal battle in courts seeking legitimation over their leadership.

The mudflow disaster, meanwhile, started eight years ago, on May 29, 2006, occurred at oil and gas drilling location operated by PT Lapindo Brantas Inc., a subsidiary of Bakrie Group. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
