JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Agung Laksono, the Chairman of Golkar Party as per result of the 2015 chairmanship congress (Munas) in Jakarta, reportedly will meet President Joko “Jokowi”Widodo at the State Palace this afternoon (Jan. 11).
Melki Lakalena, one of executive heads of Agung’s Golkar, confirmed the meeting to Kompas.com.
On the other side, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno stated that he doesn’t know yet the agenda that’ll be discussed during the meeting.
As reported earlier, Agung’s faction has just lost to their rival within the Golkar Party, Aburizal “Ical”Bakrie faction, in the battle of the House of Representatives’(DPR) Speakership.
Agung faction endorsed Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita as replacement of Setya Novanto for the position of the Speaker of the DPR. While Ical faction proposed Ade Komaruddin, who has just been inaugurated as the new DPR Speaker.
In a related progress, a lot of senior figures and young politicians within the Party have strongly called for the new chairmanship congress (Munas) to elect a new party chairman as well as to reunite the Party. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
