JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Palu Prosecutor Office has in January 6, 2014 detained Yos Sudarso Mardjuni, Democratic Party Chairman of Palu branch, related to the graft case of political party aid fund from the local budget during the period of 2005-2013.
Previously, Yos Sudarso Mardjuni has been named as suspect in the case since September 2014. The local prosecutor office investigated the case following the reports filed by local civil society group and members from the Democratic Party of Palu branch as well as an audit report from the
Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
Yos Sudarso Mardjuni is alleged to have embezzled political party aid fund from the local budget to the Democratic Party of Palu branch and the Democratic Party faction at the Palu Legislative Council (DPRD) worth Rp86 million per year and Rp5 million per month.
Yos has led the Democratic Party in Palu city, Central Sulawesi, for almost a decade. He served as Deputy Speaker of the DPRD Palu during the period of 2009-2014.
He is now still listed as Democratic Party lawmaker of Palu. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
