JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Tbk (ADMF) booked new financing of Rp7 trillion in the first quarter (Q1) of 2013, declined 11.4% from Rp7.9 trillion in the same period of 2012.
Willy Suwandi Dharma, ADMF’s president director, said the implementation of regulation on minimum downpayment in mid 2012 had resulted in the decline in financing of new motorcycle financing.
He said the decline in commodity prices also pressured the people’s purchasing power out of Java.
National-wide, new motorcycle sales only inched up 1% to 1.97 million units in first quarter of 2013, compared to the same period of 2012. In 2012, national motorcyles sales declined 12% to 7.1 million units, from 8 million in 2011.
While national new car sales increased 18% to 296,000 units in first quarter of 2013. Last year,car sales rose 25% to 1.1 million units.
ADMF’s new financing for motorcycle totaled Rp3.8 trillion while for new car reached Rp3.2 trillion. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
