JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Abdee “Slank”, lead guitarist of legendary local pop rock band Slank, said he will reject the offer for becoming Director at the newly Creative Economy Agency (BEK) should later President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo nominate him.
Abdee said he has no interest to become director at the newly agency established by Jokowi’s administration though he was one among those initiated the agency. Instead, Abdee said the agency must be led by professionals.
“I still want to continue my music career,” Abdee said.
Abdee and his Slank were known as main supporters of Jokowi during the 2014 presidential race.
Abdee organized hundreds of artists, musicians and creative workers to hold a concert in supporting Jokowi’s presidential campaign. The concert was entitled “The Salam Dua Jari (Two-finger salute) Concert.
Abdee and Slank, however, just after Jokowi’s celebration as the President of the Republic, have declared that they will return to become critical to the new government. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
