JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended lower by 0.41% to 5001 after dropping to as low as 4952 midday.
Bell weather Astra International lost 0.7%, while BCA down 0.5%. Bank Mandiri and Bank Rakyat Indonesia also conceded 2.54% and 3.43% respectively.
Telkom, Unilever Indonesia, Indocement, Indofood, and Kalbe Farma also ended lower. PGN, Bukit Asam, Mayora Indah, Astra Agro Lestari, PP London Sumatra, and Media Nusantara Citra prevented the index from deeper correction.
Regional and global markets were also under pressures. Nikkei 225 lost 3.83%, while KOSPI and STI down 1.5% each. FTSE 100 lost 1.87%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) opened lower by 0.75%.
