JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Plantation shares opened mostly lower ground in the region Friday (May 31) as the benchmark August contract of CPO remained below RM2400 per ton.
In Jakarta, Astra Agro Lestari down 1.9%, while PP London Sumatra lost 1.62%. BW Plantation and Austindo Jaya also lost 2.8% and 0.7% respectively. Salim Ivomas Pratama and Bakrie Sumatra Plantations also down 2.33% and 1.2% respectively.
In Singapore, Wilmar International lost 1.51%, while Bumitama Agri down 1.48%. Golden Agri, First Resources, and Indofood Agri were also in red zone.
The benchmark August contracts of crude palm oil (CPO) inched up RM7 to RM2379 per ton after substantial correction Thursday.
