JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PetroChina International Jabung Ltd asks local government of Tanjung Jabung Timur in Jambi province to immediately open the seal of 14 oil and gas wells in the Jabung block.
Kontan.co.id quoted Novie Latanna, communication manager of PetroChina, saying if the wells are continued to be sealed, PetroChina might have to close down the operation for safety and environmental reasons.
PetroChina claimed to have lost production of 433 barrels per day of oil and 11 MMSCFD of natural gas, with estimated loss of US$220,166 per day.
Local media in Jambi reported that Tanjung Jabung Timur government sealed 14 oil and gas wells in Jambung Block because they are allegedly operated without license.
