HONG KONG (Yosefardi) – China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), one of the world’s largest companies, booked net profit of RMB30.28 billion in the first half ended June 30, 2013, an increase of 23.6% from the corresponding period of 2012.

The company, which had total assets and equity of RMB1.27 trillion and RMB543.7 billion respectively as at June 30, 2013, reported operating profit of RMB46.74 billion, grew by 16.6% from the first half of 2012.

In the first half, Sinopec produced 219.46 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe), inched up 3.8% from the same period of 2012, where natural gas production increased by 11.8% to 324 bcf.

It produced 22.7 million tons of gasoline and 38.64 million tons of diesel in the period.

The company also produced 4.84 million tons of ethylene, raw material for plastics and fibers, inched up 0.64% from the same period of 2012.
