JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central bank, Bank Indonesia (BI), reported national commercial banks’ credit grew by 20.6% to Rp2,959.12 trillion in first half of 2013, compared to Rp2,452.85 trillion in the same period of 2012.

While non performing loan (NPL) reached 1.9% and capital adequacy ratio (CAR) stood at 18%. Third party funds increased 14.15% to Rp3,374.27 trillion, from previous Rp2,955.83 trillion.

The commercial banks booked profit after tax of Rp51,11 trillion, grew by 11.76% from Rp45.73 trillion in first half of 2012. Net interest income rose 25.2% to Rp88.56 trillion.
