JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 1.1% at 4506 Monday (Jan. 25) inline with regional markets.
Asian stocks on Monday moved further away from four-year lows struck last week, as a cold spell in parts of the northern hemisphere pushed oil prices higher and relieved some of the bearish pressure on global markets, Reuters reported.
Astra International gained 3.81%, Bank Danamon surged 6.92%, Indo Tambangraya jumped 5.9%, and United Tractors climbed 3.68%.
Japfa Comfeed also hiked 4.5%, HM Sampoerna lifted 4.07%, Bank Jatim lifted 4.95%, Citra Marga jumped 4.23%, Multipolar gained 3.09%, and Visi Media surged 6.45%.
Nymex’s crude oil retreated 2.52% to US$31.38 per barrel while gold rose 0.67% to US$1,103.70 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp13,844 against the US dollar.
