JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Dermawan Ginting, a graft suspect and judge at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Jakarta, has been sentenced to 2 years in prison after found guilty for receiving bribe worth US$2000 from Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis, senior advocate and another suspect in the case.

In addition, in a verdict trial on Wednesday (Jan. 20) at the Jakarta Corruption Court, panel of judges also ordered Dermawan to pay Rp200 million in fine or serving additional two months imprisonment.

The verdict, however, is lighter than the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) demand. Previously, the KPK’s prosecutor team demanded 4.5 years imprisonment to the defendant.

Dermawan along with two other judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan received bribe from Kaligis related to the case involving the non-active Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho. Those two other judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan are Tripeni Irianto Putro (Head of the PTUN Medan), Amir Fauzi (judge at the PTUN Medan), and Syamsir Yusfan (a registrar at the PTUN Medan).

All of them have been named as suspects in this case alongside Kaligis, his official, Gatot Pujo Nugroho, and his wife Evy Susanti. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
