JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened higher 0.8% at 4501 this morning, led by blue chip stocks.

Astra Agro rose 1.4%, AKR Corporindo gained 1.38%, Alam Sutera increased 1.53%, Bank Central Asia hiked 1.57%, Bumi Serpong Damai climbed 1.42%, Charoen Pokphand lifted 1.41%, and XL Axiata gained 1.92%.

Jasa Marga also jumped 2.67%, Lippo Karawaci gained 1.5%, Perusahaan Gas Negara rose 1.21%, Semen Indonesia increased 1.4%, Unilever Indonesia climbed 1.5%, and United Tractors added 1.42%.

Asian shares hovered near four-year lows and oil prices languished at near 12-year lows on Tuesday as investors fretted over whether Beijing may be losing control of the economy, Reuters reported.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.67% to US$35.51 per barrel in Asian trading and gold declined 0.1% to US$1,095 per ounce.
