Medan (Yosefardi) – Rahudman Harahap, Medan suspended Major, will likely to regain its post after Medan Corruption Court acquitted him from all charges on Thursday, Aug. 15.

Panel of the judges declared that the State Prosecutor failed to prove their indictment that the newly fired Democrat Party politician has committed corruption. “The Corruption Court, therefore, acquits the defendant from all charges,” said presiding judge Sugiyanto.

Responding to the decision, the State Prosecutor straightly decided to file a cassation to the Supreme Court.

Previously Rahudman was charged 4 years imprisonment by the prosecutor, added with Rp500 million in fines ad Rp480.4 million compensation. The suspended major, when served as South Tapanuli Administration Secretary, was accused committed Rp1.5 billion graft from rural government apparatus allowance.

The corruption allegation has brought Rahudman’s party to fire him from Deputy of Honorary Counsel of Democratic Party’s North Sumatera Chapter. (indrab@yosefardi.biz)
