KUPANG (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has on Sunday (Dec. 27) inaugurated the newly solar power plant in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which is the largest one ever built in Indonesia.

The solar power plant was built by state-owned PT LEN Industri with USD11.2 million of investment. It has design capacity of 5 MWp.

Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said was among those accompanied the President to inaugurate the power plant.

Other than inaugurating the power plant, Jokowi also kicked off construction of the Rotiklot dam in Belu regency during his visit in East Nusa Tenggara. He has also inspected the progress of the construction of Raknamo dam in another regency in the province. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
