JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Attorney General Office (AGO) has examined Dina, a private secretary of the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto, on Monday (Dec. 14) related to further investigation into the Freeport Indonesia scandal implicating her boss and businessman Mohammad Reza Chalid.
The Chief of the AGO’s Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Arminsyah confirmed to the press that the AGO has examined Dina and asked her to deliver some documents needed by the AGO.
Furthermore, Arminsyah said that the AGO has already identified the initiator of the meeting between Novanto, Reza, and Freeport Indonesia’s CEO Maroef Sjamsoeddin, in which Novanto and Reza allegedly promising a favor to Freeport and asking for, among others, Freeport’s shares in exchange. Arminsyah, however, was reluctant to reveal the identity of the initiator.
Yesterday, the AGO also examined Maroef as a witness in the case for third time. The AGO has also questioned Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said as a witness in the case.
The AGO, moreover, has seized Maroef’s mobile phone, in which the original tape of conversation between Maroef, Novanto and Reza is stored. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.
