JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.88% at 4585 Wednesday (Nov. 25) and rupiah strengthened against the US dollar.
Asian stocks were on edge on Wednesday as geopolitical tensions flared after Turkey downed a Russian fighter jet, while crude oil prices extended gains, Reuters reported.
Adaro Energy gained 3.54%, Alam Sutera rose 2.37%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia hiked 3.85%, Bank Mandiri lifted 2.59%, Bumi Serpong Damai climbed 3.32%, Vale Indonesia gained 3.95%, and Indika Energy surged 12.4%.
While London Sumatra fell 1.5%, Eagle High Plantations dropped 4%, MNC Investama lost 5%, and Astra International declined 1.2%.
Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.8% to US$42.53 per barrel while gold rose 0.1% to US$1,074.80 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp13,673 against the US dollar.
