JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The prosecutor team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has demanded panel of judges to sentence graft suspect and senior advocate Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis to 10 years in jail in a bribery scandal implicating judges at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Medan and Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho.

In addition, KPK’s prosecutor team also demanded panel of judges to order Kaligis to pay Rp500 million in fine or serving additional 4 months imprisonment.

According to the KPK’s prosecutor team, Kaligis has been proven guilty for bribing three judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan in order to tampering the High Prosecutor Office (Kejati) of North Sumatra’s investigation into graft case implicating Gatot.
Said judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan received bribe from Kaligis were Tripeni Irianto Putro (Head of the PTUN Medan), Amir Fauzi (judge at the PTUN Medan), Dermawan Ginting (judge at the PTUN Medan), and Syamsir Yusfan (a registrar at the PTUN Medan).

Kaligis is one of seven suspects in this case. Six other suspects are Gatot, three judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan aforementioned above, and Kaligis’staff M Yagari Bhastara Guntur aka Gerry.

Gerry altogether with the three judges and registrar at the PTUN Medan were caught red-handed in a bribery transaction in Medan back in July 9, 2015, whereas the KPK sized thousands of US dollar. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
