JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Chairman of Golkar Party Akbar Tandjung has expressed his support to the idea of holding a new chairmanship congress (Munas) to elect a new chairman for Golkar.
During a meeting with the so-called Golkar youth axis last night (Nov. 18) at his private residence, Akbar suggested both Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie and Agung Laksono, the two factions quarelling for Golkar leadership, to soon hold a meeting to discuss a new Golkar Munas.
Akbar said that a new Munas is one of solutions to resolve internal conflict within the Party.
Other than Akbar, the so-called Golkar youth axis earlier also visited three other Golkar senior figures. They are Muladi, Abdul Latief, and Andi Mattalatta. All of them also delivered similar suggestion of holding a new Munas.
Abdul Latief, moreover, suggested Ical and Agung to not run in said new Munas for paving the way to younger Golkar politicians to compete for the chairmanship. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
