JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Law expert Chudry Sitompul shared his views on suggesting the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to probe the allegation of citing the names of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and VP Jusuf Kalla in order to ask for the shares of PT Freeport Indonesia implicating the Speaker of the House Setya Novanto.

Chudry, in an interview with a television station on Tuesday (Nov. 17), said he believed that KPK is the right law enforcement institution to reveal the case, not the National Police or the Attorney General Office (AGO).

As reported earlier, Sudirman Said has filed a report to the DPR’s ethics council against a DPR lawmaker on Monday (Nov. 16). Sudirman also provided a copy of transcript regarding conversation between said lawmaker, a businessman and the leaders of Freeport dated June 8, 2015.

Later, in an interview at a television station, Sudirman confirmed that the lawmaker is Setya Novanto, who now serves as the Speaker of the DPR. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
