JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo welcomed the visit of Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull at the State Palace Jakarta on Thursday (Nov. 12).
President Jokowi is accompanied by the First Lady Iriana while PM Turnbull is accompanied by his wife Lucy Turnbull. The Australian PM and his entourage have arrived at the State Palace at around 12:00 PM of Jakarta time.
This is PM Turnbull’s first visit in Indonesia since being elected as new Australian Prime Minister back in September 2015.
After a luncheon meeting, President Jokowi reportedly wants to take PM Turnbull on a blusukan (impromptu visit) to the Blok A market in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
President Jokowi is known for his own way of welcoming guests, particularly special ones, by taking them on a blusukan. Previously, the President also took Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on a blusukan to Tanah Abang market during the latter’s visit on October 13, 2014. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.
