JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim POLRI) has detained Rachmat Bustar, graft suspect and former head of the Maros city administration’s Mining & Energy office, related to graft case that caused Rp1.4 billion of state losses.
According to the deputy director of the Bareskrim POLRI’s special economy crimes Sr. Comr. Agung Setya, the Police has detained Rachmat since Tuesday (Oct. 27).
Agung said Rachmat has been named as graft suspect in the mid of 2015 related to corruption allegation in the procurement of the Maros city’s ornamental lights during the period of 2011-2014 fiscal years.
The Police, Agung said, has charged Rachmat with Article 2 and Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law No. 31/1999 and Article 3 or Article 6 of the Anti-Money Laundering Law No. 25/2003.
Other than Rachmat, the Police has also named Rusli Rasyid, a local lawmaker at the Legislative Council (DPRD) of Maros, as another suspect in the case. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
