JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned the Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho, a PKS politician, and his wife Evy Susanti related to further investigation into bribery scandal implicating Patrice Rio Capella, former secretary general of Nasdem Party.
According to the acting head of the KPK’s public relation bureau Yuyuk Andriati, KPK questioned Gatot and his wife as suspects in the case.
Previously, Gatot and his wife have been named as suspect in the case on October 15, 2015. They are alleged for bribing Patrice with Rp200 million in as a fee for tampering the investigation from the Attorney General Office (AGO) and the High Prosecutor office (kejati) of North Sumatra on the embezzlement of the North Sumatra administration’s social funds.
Gatot and his wife have been charged with Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a, letter b or Article 13 of the Law No. 31/1999 which already amended by Law 20/2001 on Anti-Corruption juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
