JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador for Indonesia Mustafa Bin Ibrahim al Mubarak stated that his government has decided to not involving other countries in the investigation to be launched into recent tragedy in Mina stampede that killed at least 717 pilgrims and injured 823 others during the annual haj pilgrimage.

Mustafa, as quoted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (Sep. 29) night, also stated that the decision, to not involving other countries including those from the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation(OIC), has been made.

Mustafa, moreover, was reluctant to give any comments over the Mina deadly stampede before the results of investigation come out.

As reported earlier, at least 717 pilgrims have lost their lives after a deadly stampede in Mina during the annual haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The Indonesia government released that so far they’ve identified about 41 Indonesian pilgrims killed after the deadly stampede while 10 others injured and 82 others still missing.

Indonesia is one among countries that urged Saudi to give access to other countries to get involved in a probe into the tragedy. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
