JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Indonesian coal production fell 15.4% to 263 million tons in January-August 2015 period, from 311 million tons in the corresponding period of 2014.
The fall is duo to the decline in demand. During this period, coal export only reached 211 million tons, declined 18% from 258 million tons in January-August 2014.
While domestic coal demand or consumption reached 52 million tons, lower than 53 million tons in January-August 2014.
The government of Indonesia targets coal production reach 425 million tons this year.
