JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Criticisms continue flowing to the House of Representatives (DPR) regarding their poor performances of legislation.
This time, the criticism comes from Jimly Asshiddiqie, a professor of state administration law from University of Indonesia (UI).
The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), as quoted by Kompas.com, said the lawmakers at the DPR too much spent energy for selecting public officials than focusing to finish the new legislations.
Jimly, who is now chairman of the Election Organizers Ethics Council (DKPP), said the DPR is needed to be evaluated. He reminded that the DPR’s three main functions are legislation, supervision, and budgeting.
DPR has ony so far passed 2 bills into new laws from 37 bills previously included in the 2015 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
