JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Indonesian Military (TNI) has proposed as request of Rp35 trillion additional budget to the House of Representatives (DPR), Kompas.com reported.
The request has been delivered by Commander of the Military General Gatot Nurmantyo in a hearing (RDP) with the House Commission I, overseeing defense, intelligence, international affairs, and ICT.
Commander Gatot argued that TNI proposes additional budget following the weakening of rupiah to US dollar and the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 87/2015 on the military officers’ performance allowance.
The budget allocated for the country’s defense sector in the 2015 State budget (APBN) reaches Rp96.9 trillion. In the revised 2015 State budget (APBN-P), the government and the DPR have agreed to add Rp4.725 trillion additional budget for the defense sector. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
