JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended lower 0.9% at 4806 as profit taking hit. The index gained in the early morning trade.

Profit taking hit certain stocks after recent gains such as Perusahaan Gas Negara (-3.63%), United Tractors (-4.46%), Timah (-3%), Semen Indonesia (-3.19%), Indofood (-4.76%), Eagle High Plantation (-3.18%), Charoen Pokphand (-5.9%), and XL Axiata (-4.83%).

Asian shares mostly closed in red after strong service-sector data and comments from a Fed policymaker boosted optimism about the United State economy and fanned expectations of a U.S. rate hike in September, Reuters reported.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.3% to US$45.41 per barrel and gold inched down 0.06% to US$1,085 per ounce. The rupiah weakened further to Rp13,529 against the US dollar.
