JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho on Monday (July 27) related to further investigation into bribery scandal implicating judges at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Medan, North Sumatra.
Besides Gatot, the KPK also questioned Gatot’s wife Evy Susanti. KPK has asked the Immigration office to ban Gatot, who is also politician from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), and his wife from overseas travel.
As reported earlier, KPK has named six suspects in this case. They are Head of the PTUN Medan Tripeni Irianto Putro, PTUN Medan’s Judge Amir Fauzi, Judge Dermawan Ginting, clerk Syamsir Yusfan, a lawyer at OC Kaligis Law Office M. Yagari “Gery” Bhastara, and OC Kaligis. The first five names were caught-in-the-act operation (OTT) in Medan.
The KPK seized cash amounting to USD15,000 and SGD5,000 from the bribery transaction. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
