JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) II plans to build New Muara Jati seaport in Cirebon, West Java, which costs Rp1.75 trillion.

The construction of new seaport is scheduled for October 2015, targeted to complete the construction by October 2017. Pelindo II has raised US$1.6 billion, equivalent Rp20.8 trillion, via global bonds issue in May 5, 2015.

The bonds proceeds will be used to fund construction of New Priok Port project (Rp8 trillion), Tanjung Carat port project in Sorong (Rp3.5 trillion), Kijing port and Cirebon port (Rp1.2 trillion).

New Priok port construction has reached 86% for completion and will commence its commercial operation in January 2016.
