JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chairwoman of the ruling Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), has on Sunday (June 28) officially opened a cadre school that will train regional leader candidates from the party as preparation ahead of the 2015 simultaneous regional elections.

The Fifth President of the Republic led the opening ceremony of PDI-P’s cadre school at previous PDI-P’s headquarters in Lenteng
Agung, South Jakarta.

PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto revealed that the school will be participated by 137 regional leader candidates from 25
provinces and 99 regencies/municipalities throughout the country.

In the future, PDI-P have planned to establish a permanent party’s cadre school in Yogyakarta.

As reported earlier, the country will hold the first ever simultaneous regional election on Dec. 9, 2015, in 9 provinces, 224 regencies, and 36 municipalities.

PDI-P is now the largest political party in the House of Representatives (DPR) which controls 109 out of 560 total seats or 19.46%. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
