JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of State Secretary Pratikno told the press that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has rejected the House of Representatives’ (DPR) proposal on increasing the so-called aspiration fund to Rp11.2 trillion per year to all 560 lawmakers into next year’s state budget.
In a different place, Minister of the National Planning Agency (Bappenas) Andrinof Chaniago also revealed to the press regarding
President Jokowi’s rejection over the so-called aspiration fund proposed by the House. Both Pratikno and Andrinof are known as
President’s closest aides.
As reported earlier, majority of factions of political parties in the DPR have supported the proposal of the so-called aspiration fund. While other three factions (PDI-P, Nasdem, and Hanura) rejected said proposal.
Under the proposal, every lawmaker will get Rp20 billion per year should President Jokowi approve to enlist said proposal into the 2016 state budget draft.
The House’s proposal of aspiration fund itself has harvested criticism from civil society groups, especially anti-corruption activists. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
