JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Djarot Kusumayakti was on Monday (June 8) appointed as new head or president director for the State Logistics Agency (Bulog), replacing Lenny Sugihat who is considered failing to achieve target of farmers’ rice uptake after 5 months of taking the top management post at Bulog.
Muhammad Zamkhani, an official from state-owned enterprises (SoE) ministry, said the government also appointed Wahyu Suparyono as new director replacing Lely Soebakty.
Djarot Kusumayakti previous acted as director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI), while Wahyu Suparyono was earlier president director of PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI).
Bulog has absorbed 700,000 tons of farmers’ rice as of May 2015, representing 25% of the target of 2.75 million tons. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo targets the uptake of farmers’ rice of 4 million tons to 4.5 million tons for this whole year.
