JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Johan Budi SP stated that the KPK will closely monitor the issuance of mining licenses in the regions ahead of the 2015 simultaneous regional elections.
Johan also asked all related parties, including the press, to help KPK to monitoring the issuance of mining licenses in the regions. He said the monitoring is necessary needed to avoid corruption acts related to the issuance of mining licenses that might benefits regional leaders in the elections.
Johan said KPK have more concern on 19 provinces. KPK will form a special team to watch the management of natural resources in the regions.
As reported earlier, the country will hold the first ever simultaneous regional elections in 269 regions that comprises of 9 provinces, 36 municipalities, and 224 regencies this year. The regional elections in said regions will be held simultaneously on Dec. 9, 2015. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
