JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Spokesperson of the Attorney General Office (AGO) Tony T. Spontana stated that the dossier of non-active Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto is completed (P21), Kompas.com reported, Monday (May. 25).
Bambang Widjojanto has been named as suspect by the National Police in a case related to the post-election dispute of Kotawaringin Barat regency. He was even detained for two days before being released on Jan. 25, 2015
The Police has charged Bambang with Article 242 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 poin 1 of the KUHP juncto Article 55 paragraph 2 of the KUHP juncto Article 56 of the KUHP.
Bambang’s lawyers, meanwhile, asked the Police to stop investigation into their client. Bambang even filed a pre-trial lawsuit but later decided to revoke said lawsuit a few days ago.
Similar pressure to the Police to close Bambang case also comes from civil society groups, especially anti-corruption activists. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
