JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Vice President Jusuf Kalla stated that the Minister of Youth & Sports will soon revoke the suspension over the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Metrotvnews.com reported on Monday (May. 25).
Kalla said the agreement to revoke PSSI’s suspension has been reached this morning in a meeting between Minister of Youth & Sports and PSSI’s representatives at the Vice President office.
As reported earlier, Minister Imam decided to freeze the PSSI, following PSSI’s decision to remain included Persebaya and Arema Cronus in the 2015 Indonesian Super League while neglecting recommendation from the Indonesian Professional Sports Body (BOPI).
PSSI, meanwhile, fought back by filing a lawsuit to the State Administrative Court (PTUN). PSSI, moreover, filed a report against Minister Imam to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
The FIFA later gave ultimatum to Indonesian government to halt all its actions regarding the PSSI and threatened the country’s soccer with sanctions if the conflict was not settled by May 29, 2015. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
