JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Domestic cement sales reached 18.09 million tons in the first four months of 2015 (January-April), down 2.7% from 18.59 million tons in the same period of 2014.

In Nusa Tenggara islands, cement sales dropped 4.5% to 1.05 million tons. Sales in Kalimantan fell 3.4% to 1.43 million.

In Java, cement sales declined 3% to 10 million tons. Cement sales in Sumatera fell 1.8% to 3.84 million tons, in Sulawesi declined 1.7% to 1.33 million tons, in Maluku and Papua down 0.5% to 438,602 tons.

Indonesia Cement Association (ASI) predicts national cement sales to grow by 3.5% to 62 million tons this year, compared to 59.90 million tons in 2014, supported by the infrastructure projects such as toll roads, smelter, power plants, mass rapid transit (MRT), railways, and sea ports across the country.
