JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Brother and another relatives of the fugitive Djoko Soegiarto Tjandra have been reportedly met President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo during the latter’s state visit in the Papua New Guinea (PNG), Monday (May. 11) evening, Kompas.com reported.

The meeting took place in the mid of the gala dinner of President Jokowi and PNG Prime Minister Peter Charles Paire 0’Neill at the Parliament building in Port Moresby. But there is no official statement yet from both the State Palace and Djoko Tjandra’s family regarding the meeting.

Djoko Tjandra has been long listed as a fugitive by the Attorney General Office (AGO). Djoko, a suspect in the cessie Bank Bali case, managed to escape to overseas since 2009.

Back in October 2009, KPK lawyer once revealed that they got information about the money from Djoko Tjandra to the Yayasan Kesetiakawanan dan Kepedulian when grilled Viadi Sutoyo (executive of Mulia Group) in relation to the bribery scandal of Artalyta “Ayin” Suryani and prosecutor Urip Tri Gunawan in May 2008.

Yayasan Kesetiakawanan dan Kepedulian, where Djoko Suyanto listed as member of Supervisory Council, is one of foundations linked to the Cikeas family.

According to Artalyta, who nicknamed Djoko Tjandra with the Joker, said Djoko Tjandra gave out USD1 million to the Yayasan Kesetiakawanan dan Kepedulian. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
