JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State oil and gas company PT Pertamina plans to boost investment on fuel refinery which costs US$18 billion within next 5 years.

The company will upgrade the capacity of its four existing refineries, located in Cilacap, Balikpapan, Balongan, and Dumai.

This revitalization program would boost the exisiting refineries’ capacity to process 1.68 million barrel crude oil per day (bopd) from current capacity of 820,000 bopd.

Pertamina also mulls to build new grass root refinery in Bontang with investment cost of US$10 billion, equivalent Rp130 trillion.

Meanwhile Pertamina said Donggi Senoro liquefied natural gas (LNG) refinery will commence operation and make fitst shipment of LNG cargo in July this year. The gas for Donggi-Senoro LNG refinery is supplied from Joint Operating Body of Pertamina Medco Tomori Sulawesi and Marindok gas development project.
