JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended up 0.62% at 5182 on Friday (May 8), but closed off its high as profit taking hit certain stocks during the afternoon trade. The index moved at range of 5175-5200.

Regional markets also closed in green. Bumi Resources soared 27.85%, Astra International gained 2.78%, Astra Agro jumped 3.67%, Indocement hiked 4.92%, Semen Gresik lifted 3.5%, and United Tractors climbed 4.93%.

Other gainers were Telkom (+1.06%), Unilever (+1.38%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (+1.63%), London Suamtra (+1.78%), Kalbe Farma (+1.37%), and Jasa Marga (+1.19%).

Adhi Karya also gained 2.65%, Wijaya Karya rose 2.65%, and Bumi Resources Minerals jumped 5.73%.

While Waskita Karya fell 1.69%, Alam Sutera dropped 3.05%, Bumi Serpong Damai lost 2.7%, Indofood declined 1.48%, and Trada Maritim fell 7%.

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.24% to US$59.08 per barrel and gold increased 0.26% to US$1,185.30 per ounce. The rupiah weakened further to Rp13,177 against the US dollar.
