JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Senior comedian and artist Ferrasta “Pepeng” Soebardi has passed away on Wednesday (May. 6) at the Puri Cinere Hospital, Depok, West Java, due to a chronic disease.

Pepeng died at 60 after battling his chronic disease for years. The netizens in Twitterland also reacted to his death as hashtags like #RIPPepeng became number one trending topic in the country.

Born in Sumenep, Madura, East Java, in 1954, Pepeng was not just an entertainer but an inspiring figure. Pepeng got his bachelor degree in Anthropology from the University of Indonesia (UI).

Back in 1986, Pepeng established the legendary comedian group Sersan Prambors along with Sys NS, Krisna, and Nana Krip. Sys NS is now politician and founder of the Democratic Party, a political party led by former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
