JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Two biggest cigarette makers PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) and PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM) reported flat profit in first half of this year though their sales grew by double-digit.

HMSP booked net profit of Rp5.008 trillion, inched up 2.7% from Rp4.88 trillion in first half of 2012. While net sales increased 13.6% to Rp36.19 trillion from previous Rp31.87 trillion.

Its cost of goods sold also rose 16.3% to Rp26.78 trillion. The company paid income tax of Rp1.7 trillion. Its assets totaled Rp26.53 trillion while liability amounted Rp18.2 trillion. Cash and cash equivalent reached Rp436.96 billion.

Gudang Garam reported net profit of Rp2.2 trillion, grew by 4.8% from Rp2.13 trillion in first half of 2012. Revenues grew by 13% to Rp26.64 trillion from previous Rp23.56 trillion.

GGRM’s cost of goods sold also rose 12% to Rp21.34 trillion. It paid income tax of Rp744.05 billion in the period. Its assets totaled Rp45.45 trillion while liability amounted Rp18.19 trillion. The company has cash and cash equivalent of Rp1.29 trillion.

Meanwhile PT Bentoel Internasional Tbk (RMBA) reported net loss of Rp536.7 billion, widened from Rp156.14 billion in first half of last year. Its net revenues increased 17.6% to Rp5.64 trillion from previous Rp4.79 trillion. Cost of goods sold reached Rp4.824 trillion and operating expense was Rp1.39 trillion. The company’s assets totaled Rp7.76 trillion while liability amounted Rp6.38 trillion.

PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM) booked net profit of Rp79 billion on revenues of Rp806 billion.
