JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Spokesperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Priharsa Nugraha confirmed to the press that the KPK is now intensifying its investigation into a haj graft case implicating Suryadharma Ali, former minister of Religious affairs.
Priharsa revealed that KPK has questioned a number of witnesses during the last month. According to Priharsa, 100 witnesses have been questioned in the case.
Last week, KPK has detained Suryadharma after a questioning session. Suryadharma, who is also former chairman of the United Development Party (PPP), has been named as a graft suspect since May. 22, 2014.
He has been charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1 or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 65 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
