JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is expected on Monday (Apr. 6) to face three pre-trial petitions at the South Jakarta District Court filed by four graft suspects. While the Attorney General Office (AGO) will face one pre-trial petition.
The three graft suspects filing a pre-trial petition separately against the KPK are Suryadharma Ali, former Minister of Religious Affairs and Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP); Sutan Siregar Bhatoegana, a politician from SBY’s Democratic Party and former Head of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VII; and Suroso Atmo Martoyo, former
Pertamina’s Director for Processing.
While graft suspect filing a pre-trial petition against the AGO is Udar Pristono, former Head of the Jakarta administration’s Transportation office.
Back in May. 22, 2014, KPK named Suryadharma as suspect in the haj graft case. KPK charged Suryadharma with Article 2 Paragraph 1 or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 65 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP). KPK previously said they might also charge Suryadharma with the Anti-Money Laundering Law.
Bhatoegana has been named as graft suspect since May. 14, 2014, related to the so-called holiday bonuses (THR) from the powerful oil and gas regulatory body SKK Migas. While Suroso Atmo Martoyo has been named as a graft suspect since 2011 in a bribery case implicating Innospec Ltd, a subsidiary of a Nasdaq listed company Innospec Inc.
Udar Pristono, meanwhile, was named as a graft suspect by AGO related to the procurement project of Transjakarta buses in 2012. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
