JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened up 0.38% at 5488 this morning following gains in regional markets.

This morning Asian shares opened higher, as gains in crude prices offset a weaker finish in the U.S. overnight. However, cautious sentiment could prevail ahead of the Easter holiday, which will see most Asian bourses shuttered tomorrow for an extended weekend.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 1.04% to US$49.57 per barrel in Asian trading this morning and gold declined 0.39% to US$1,203.50 per ounce.

Alam Sutera gained 3.4%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 1.35%, Bumi Serpong Damai increased 1.4%, Bumi Resources hiked 2.67%, Unilever climbed 1.2%, and Matahari Putra Prima lifted 1.35%.

While state construction stocks fell this morning. Waskita Karya dropped 6.2%, Wijaya Karya lost 1.6%, and Adhi Karya fell 2.64%.
