JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – A speculation comes to surface that the National Police may detain Denny Indrayana, graft suspect and former Vice Minister of Law & Human Rights, after examination session on Thursday (Apr. 2) related to further investigation into the payment gateway system case.
Spokesperson of the National Police Brig. Gen. Anton Charliyan, however, stated that the Police has not yet assured on whether or not they will detain Denny after the Thursday’s questioning.
Anton also said the Police has prepared a doctor team to make sure Denny would be fit to finish the questioning this morning. The questioning itself is scheduled to be started around 10:00 am of Jakarta time.
The Thursday’s questioning is the second questioning for Denny as a suspect in the case. In the first questioning, Denny failed to finish the session due to tiredness.
Denny Indrayana, also a law expert from the Gadjah Mada University (UGM), has been named as a graft suspect in a case related to the payment gateway system at the Law Ministry. Denny has been charged with Article 2 paragraph 1, Article 3, and Article 23 of the Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 421 and Article 55 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
Other than Denny, the Police has also questioned a dozen of other witnesses, including former Minister of Law & Human Rights Amir Syamsuddin, Chairman of Democratic Party Honorary Board. Amir Syamsuddin and Denny Indrayana led the Ministry of Law & Human Rights from 2011 to 2014 under Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration.
